**Who Are We?** At HyPrix, we're building attritable payload delivery systems for autonomy. Things that fly fast, we're enabling them with conscious software. Replicating the capabilities of expensive conventional frontline systems, we're building the cheapest micro and cruise missile systems on the planet. Built for a war of attrition, built for the era of software-defined warfare, built to cater to the front lines of battlefields where no man should stand in the future. Learn more about us: https://hyprix.in **What You'll Do** The PCB Librarian owns the creation, quality and control of the HyPrix ECAD component library: schematic symbols, footprints, 3D models and part data. Each library part must be accurate, manufacturable and ready for flight-critical avionics boards. The position holder works closely with the avionics hardware, PCB layout, mechanical, supply chain and manufacturing teams, and with component vendors. - **Part creation.** Create schematic symbols, footprints and 3D models from vendor datasheets, to IPC standards and HyPrix library standards. Check pin assignments, pad geometry, polarity and pin-1 marks against the datasheet. Get clarification from the vendor when the datasheet data is not clear. - **New part requests.** Review each new part request from the engineers, and close it quickly so that design work does not stop. - **Part data.** Keep the metadata of each part complete: manufacturer part number, alternates, lifecycle status, temperature grade, package and datasheet. - **Component lifecycle.** Check part availability, lead time and obsolescence status with the supply chain team and the vendors. Mark the parts that are not recommended for new designs. - **Mechanical integration.** Supply accurate 3D models for ECAD-MCAD integration with the mechanical team. - **Manufacturing feedback.** Use the DFM and DFA feedback from the fabrication and assembly vendors, and the first article results, to improve footprints. - **Configuration control.** Keep the library under version control, and release library changes through a controlled process. Link the library parts to the PLM system. - **Library audits.** Audit the library at regular intervals for errors, duplicate parts and parts that are out of standard. - **Library rules and automation.** Write the library rules: part naming, the steps to request, create, check and release a part, and the required part data. Develop scripts that automate routine library checks. ### Requirements **Minimum Experience (Years)** 3 years of ECAD library work or PCB design. HyPrix prefers this experience, but it is not mandatory. Demonstrated capability is more important than years. **Required Skills** - **Library experience.** Hands-on creation and management of schematic symbols, footprints, 3D models and part metadata. - **Tools.** Strong proficiency in Altium Designer, including managed or database libraries. KiCad, OrCAD/Allegro or Xpedition is also acceptable. - **Datasheets.** Ability to read package drawings, land pattern recommendations, tolerances and pinouts in vendor datasheets. - **IPC standards.** Knowledge of IPC land pattern and design standards, and of IPC Class 2 and Class 3 requirements. - **Fabrication and assembly.** Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processes, and of the effect of a footprint on solder joint quality and assembly yield. - **Components.** Knowledge of passive, active, power and connector parts, and of common packages, for example SMD, through-hole, QFN and BGA. - **Version control.** Experience with library revision control and release. - **Detail and ownership.** Strong attention to detail, an ownership mindset and clear communication across teams. - A diploma or bachelor's degree in electronics, electrical, electronics and communication or instrumentation engineering. - Eligibility for background verification and security clearance. This position handles export-controlled and commercially confidential information. **Advantageous Skills/Qualifications** - Library experience in an aerospace, defence or other high-reliability company. - Experience with Altium 365, Concord Pro or Altium Enterprise Server. - Experience to link an ECAD library with a PLM system. - Python or Altium Designer scripts (DelphiScript) for library automation. - Knowledge of IPC-7351, IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001. - An IPC CID certification. - PCB layout and routing experience. - Experience with component lifecycle tools, for example SiliconExpert or Octopart. - Knowledge of counterfeit-part avoidance for defence hardware. ### Benefits **Why Join HyPrix?** HyPrix is a lean team with no rule book. Each person receives an end goal tied to a real product, and decides how to achieve it. The PCB Librarian makes sure that each HyPrix flight board starts from correct and controlled component data.
