Make an Impact Produce electrical design packages on small and mid-sized projects. Take assigned projects from preliminary concepts through full design phase deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates, with oversight from senior engineers. Run the electrical calculations behind each design. Perform load calculations, voltage drop analyses, and short-circuit studies for power distribution and lighting systems, and document them so a reviewer can follow your work. Develop single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and wiring diagrams. Produce them in Revit and AutoCAD to company standards, coordinated with the other disciplines on the project so the systems fit together. Keep every design code-compliant. Check designs against NEC and IEC requirements and prepare the compliance documentation for small-to-medium complexity systems. Keep several projects moving for several project engineers at once. Deliver drawings, estimates, and documentation across multiple small projects, and write contract documents that match the scope, schedule, and fee set for each phase. Review your own work before it goes to a senior reviewer. Catch errors in your drawings and calculations first. When you find an inconsistency in the design or documentation, tell the senior team and bring a proposed fix. Work alongside senior engineers on client and field issues. Attend client meetings, interdisciplinary coordination sessions, off-site meetings, and field inspections, and work through the minor technical problems that come up during design and construction. Take on more complex electrical systems over time. Contribute to team meetings and Lessons Learned sessions, and ask senior staff to pull you into the harder project tasks as you learn from them.
