System Control Engineer - Electrical Design

An engineer with a strong background in electrical design, capable of developing electrical modules for high-tech mechatronic products and embedded motion drives. The role involves designing electrical schematics, developing PCB designs and integrating electrical, electronic and pneumatic components into complete mechatronic systems.

You will work closely with engineers from different disciplines to ensure that electrical and electronic designs meet functional, performance, reliability and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing electrical schematics using EPLAN or similar engineering software
  • Designing and developing PCBs, including electronic circuit design, component selection and PCB layout, while considering manufacturability, reliability, safety and cost
  • Integrating electrical and electronic designs into mechatronic products and production tooling
  • Selecting, specifying and integrating sensors, actuators, motors and control components for products and production tooling
  • Collaborating with mechatronic, mechanical and software engineers throughout the product development process
  • Supporting prototyping, testing, validation and product release together with the project team
  • Troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis of electrical and electronic issues within complex mechatronic systems, including system-level interactions
  • Designing and understanding pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, pressure regulation and pneumatic circuits
  • Supporting the optimization and continuous improvement of existing electrical and electronic designs

Required knowledge and skills

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems & Control or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of practical experience in electrical design within a high-tech environment.
  • Experience with electrical schematic design using EPLAN or similar engineering software.
  • Practical PCB design experience using tools such as Altium or KiCad.
  • Good understanding of electrical and electronic systems and their integration into mechatronic products.
  • Strong system-level thinking, with the ability to understand interactions between electronic, mechanical and software components.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues.
  • Good communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
