- Assist in the creation of design office standards and practices. - Capable of taking on project management tasks - Ensure OHSE policies and guidelines are carried out. - Provide technical and professional help to junior employees. - Communicate with project managers and designers. - Collaborate with production departments to give technical support. - Provide regular contact to the Design Manager. - Attend Design & Project meetings and conference calls. - Provide information on work completed on a monthly basis to the Design Manager. - Preliminary vessel concept development for tender - Prepare 2D and 3D drawings/models for building. - Engineering system calculations according to various classification society regulations. - Preparing and reviewing production designs for construction - Ensure the proper filing and documenting of drawings, calculations, and other project documents on the design server. Qualifications: - Proficient with AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Rhinoceros, Solidworks, and other 3D tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. - Formal education in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering - Experience with ship systems engineering. - Experience designing engineering mechanical components. - Experience with aluminium and steel. - Knowledge of Classification Society regulations.
