Description

As an Principal PCB Designer on the Product Development Team, you will apply your layout expertise to hands-on PCB layout work and serve as a design reviewer for layouts created by other engineers, helping the team catch issues early and maintain a high bar for layout quality. Beyond layout work, you will contribute to and may own and maintain the electrical CAD library infrastructure that our EE

organization relies on to design accurately and efficiently.

What You will Do

● Own high-density, multi-layer, high-speed HDI and PCB designs from initial layout through manufacturing release

● Establish, document, and enforce company-wide PCB design rules, stackups, and CAD library best practices

● Review layouts created by other designers, providing feedback to ensure design and manufacturability standards are met

● Collaborate closely with EE, ME, Thermal, and Radio Engineers to manage signal integrity, spatial constraints, model exchanges (IDX/IDF), and thermal dissipation

● Drive PCB vendor evaluations, substrate material selection, and tooling capabilities in partnership with Sourcing and JDM partners

● Grow and maintain the electrical CAD library, including Allegro PCB footprints and running simulations within the eCAD layout tool

● Support some international travel for team alignment and factory/supplier visits

What You will Need

Basic Qualifications

● BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 12+ years of relevant PCB layout experience

● Proven experience with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR4/DDR5, HDMI, MIPI, Ethernet), RF layout, HDI, blind/buried vias, and flex/rigid-flex board designs

● Proven experience setting up, owning, and maintaining physical and electrical layout rules inside a Constraints Manager to enforce design compliance across complex board layouts

● Solid understanding of Signal Integrity (SI) & Power Integrity (PI) guidelines, layer stackup creation, impedance matching, power delivery networks (PDN), and trace shielding

● Hands-on experience collaborating with CM/JDMs partners on Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, and Test

● Proficient in verbal and written English with excellent communication skills to explain design decisions and document standards

● Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple requests simultaneously

● Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, JDM partners, and global team members across different time zones

Preferred Qualifications

● Technical foundation in electrical engineering; direct experience with OrCAD and Cadence Allegro is preferred

● Experience supporting high-volume consumer electronics products

● Scripting/automation skills in Cadence Allegro (SKILL scripting, TCL, or Python) to streamline layout workflows

● Experience with PLM system integration (Arena) for BOM management and release
